I never thought I’d be the girl excited about bubbling cabbage. And yet, here we are.
This week, I made my very first batch of homemade sauerkraut — and when I poked into the jar, I heard it bubbling back at me. That sound? That’s the sound of life — beneficial bacteria doing what they were designed to do: support healing from the inside out.

I’ve been on a holistic wellness journey for decades, but this season is especially deep. It’s not just about nutrition. It’s deeper levels -- or new heights -- of physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental healing — all at once. And sometimes, something as simple as sauerkraut becomes a symbol of that.
Why I’m Loving Fermentation Right Now
Fermented foods aren’t new — in fact, they’re ancient. Cultures all over the world have relied on them for thousands of years, not just for preserving food but for thriving health. The bubbling, tangy result of natural fermentation is packed with probiotics (good bacteria) that can:
✔️ Support a healthy gut microbiome
✔️ Improve digestion and nutrient absorption
✔️ Balance hormones
✔️ Strengthen the immune system
✔️ Support emotional well-being through the gut-brain axis
And let’s be honest — there’s something almost sacred about making it yourself. Knowing that a few simple ingredients — cabbage, salt, and time — can create something so powerful is a beautiful reminder that healing doesn’t have to be complicated.
Healing Is Multidimensional
This batch of sauerkraut is more than just food to me. It’s a part of a deeper reset. One that’s inviting me to nourish my body, realign with what’s sacred, and tend to my nervous system. Because healing doesn’t come in just one form — it’s layered. It’s a journey. It’s a return.
If you’re on your own healing path, I invite you to explore the beautiful simplicity of fermented foods. Even just adding a spoonful of sauerkraut to your plate each day can be a loving step toward restoration.
Have You Ever Made Your Own?
If you’re already a fermentation fan, I’d love to hear your favorite recipes — or your most memorable ferment fails! (We’ve all had one 😉)
And if you’ve never tried, let this be your nudge: grab a cabbage and some sea salt and let the magic begin.
You never know — your healing might just start with a little bubble.
With heart and health,
Tasha
